Am 14.04.2025 war es so weit: Georg Raab hat sein Spitfire-Training offiziell abgeschlossen. Von nun an stehen Flüge in MH415 an.

Das Training fand am Flugplatz bei Sint-Truiden in Belgien statt – auf einer T9 Spitfire, gemeinsam mit Frédéric Vormezeele. In der ersten Trainingssession standen drei Landungen sowie etwas Airwork auf dem Programm. Die zweite Session umfasste zwei weitere Landungen. Nach insgesamt drei Trainings- Flügen auf der T9 war es dann soweit: Georg ist ausgecheckt.

Trotz seiner jahrzehntelangen Erfahrung auf verschiedenen Warbirds eröffnete das Spitfire-Training eine neue Welt für Georg. Die Systeme sind im Vergleich zu den Flugzeugen, die Georg bislang geflogen hat, komplett unterschiedlich. Die britischen Konstruktionen unterschieden sich in vielen Details von der restlichen Flotte. Nach seinem ersten Training mit Chris meinte Georg entsprechend: „Not an easy task.“

Im Anschluss folgte eine Phase der Nachbereitung, die schließlich in das „ground handling“ mit MH415 mündete. Nach dem erfolgreichen Abschluss in Belgien zeigte sich Georg zufrieden und sagte mit einem Lächeln im Gesicht: „Und jetzt geht’s los!“

Das ganze Team freut sich riesig auf Georg’s ersten Flug in MH415.

April 14, 2025, marked a special moment: Georg Raab officially completed his Spitfire training. From now on, flights in MH415 are on the horizon.

The training took place at the airfield near Sint-Truiden in Belgium – on a T9 Spitfire, together with Frédéric Vormezeele. The first training session included three landings as well as some airwork. The second session covered two additional landings. After a total of three training flights on the T9, the moment had come: Georg was signed off.

Despite his decades of experience with various warbirds, the Spitfire training opened up a whole new world for Georg. The systems are completely different compared to the aircraft he had flown up to this point. The British designs differ in many details from the rest of the fleet. After his first training session with Chris, Georg commented: “Not an easy task.”

This was followed by a phase of post-training preparation, which eventually led to ground handling with MH415. After successfully completing the training in Belgium, Georg was visibly pleased and said with a smile: “Now it’s time to begin!”

The whole team is incredibly excited for Georg’s first flight in MH415.
