About Georg Raab
Georg “Kid” Raab
Georg Raab – an entrepreneur and display pilot with a passion – has more than 25 years of flying experience on historic aircraft. His portfolio mainly includes historic aircraft such as the Boeing Stearman, T-6 Harvard, P-51 Mustang and Chance Vought F4U Corsair. His passion has always been the warbirds of the 1940s.
In Germany, Raab became famous for his low level display with the T-6 Harvard MK II D-FRCP. The spectacular displays of his yellow Boeing Stearman biplane also thrilled audiences at air shows. Sophisticated energy management made the cumbersome biplane appear as light as a feather when performing aerial gymnastics. With the acquisition of the P-51 Mustang “Frances Dell”, Raab fulfilled a long-awaited dream.
Raab:
“The P-51 is a dream of mine since my childhood days and now this dream comes true. It is a peculiar feeling being the owner and pilot of such an outstanding icon like the P-51 Mustang.“
“But this situation also gives rise to the obligation to tell more about the Second World War. There is a lot to tell about the heroes who flew them, but also about the designers, mechanics and opponents in the sky.”
“In the fall of 2023, the acquisition of the Chance Vought F4U Corsair happened. “This also brings back childhood memories. The series about the “Black Sheep Squadron”, led by Major Greg “Pappy” Boyington, introduced many of my generation to the “Corsair”.
“Perhaps there is more truth than you think in the saying “The older the boys, the bigger the toys”.”
